JLSS Director Addresses BibleLands Annual Meeting

Edinburgh ScotlandThe director of JLSS, Rev. George D. Haddad, was invited by BibleLands to the United Kingdom from 29 September till 4 October 2010.
His visit started in Scotland for the first few days where he addressed two meetings for BibleLands' supporters held in Glasgow and Edinburgh. He then travelled to London to address the BibleLands Annual Meeting and attend the Service of Thanksgiving held on Saturday 2 October 2010.
He spoke about partnership with BibleLands which he was involved with since 1988, and how it transformed many institutions he served throughout his career. He gave an account of BibleLands support that facilitated and enabled those institutions to provide good Christian care that transformed the lives of underprivileged children and people. The wonderful partnership with BibleLands enabled these Christian institution to survive in spite of all the challenges that they faced in the Middle East, economically and politically, and enabled them to provide caring homes and excellent education and vocational training to underprivileged children.
This was also the case for Schneller School in Lebanon which from its very beginning in 1952 was supported by BibleLands. The latest projects in JLSS which BibleLands supported brought equal opportunities to girls through the boarding homes and vocational training center projects. The solar water heating project enabled JLSS to reduce its enormous electricity and diesel bills and thus reduced the operational deficit enabling JLSS to continue in spite of the difficult economic challenges.
The director was kindly hosted by BibleLands trustees who kindly accommodated him in their homes. He was also taken around Scotland and visited many outstandingly beautiful places including Loch Lomond, the National Wallace Monument in Sterling, the Falkirk Wheel, and Edinburgh castle. He also attended the Harvest Festival Dinner and the Sunday Services in All Saints Church near Rugby in England.
We express our most sincere gratitude to the trustees for their wonderful hospitality and for all the great blessings that our partnership with BibleLands is bringing to us and to the many underprivileged children we serve.
