Work Starts on the New Vocational Training Center for Girls
(Elisabeth von der Decken Hall)

Work on New Vocational Training Center for GirlsA meeting was held on Saturday 11 October 2008 with the engineers who were awarded the contract for the Girls Vocational Training Center: Elisabeth von der Decken Hall. After the final touches on the project were agreed upon demolition and construction work was started. Work began on Monday 13 October. The first stage will include all demolition work, construction of new walls and staircase, and completing all concrete work. This will be done before the cold winter sets in and snow starts to fall. Then work will stop until next Spring when all the electrical works, plumbing, tiling, painting, and finishing will be done. The project is financed by BibleLands, EMS, and the Schweizer Verein. The facilities will include all the requirements for teaching Hairdressing & Makeup, Dressmaking & Fashion Design, and Work on New Vocational Training Center for GirlsCooking & Housework. We expect to launch all these new vocational programs at the beginning of the academic year 2009/2010. We express our most sincere gratitude to BibleLands, EMS, and the Schweizer Verein for enabling us to realize this project. The new center will be named Elisabeth von der Decken Hall in gratitude to the late Elisabeth von der Decken who left a legacy of 34,000 for JLSS which will be used for this project.
