Graduation 2013
The graduation ceremony for the academic year 2012/2013
was held on Friday 21 June 2013 at 5.20 pm. We had to delay the start of
the ceremony for twenty minutes until all parents arrived. The delay was
due to political unrest in the Beqaa region on that day. Many of the
teachers and trainers were not able to reach school because of closed or
unsafe roads.
The graduating students entered Herman Schneller Hall in procession
followed by Mr. Elias Haddad
who is in charge of the boys boarding homes, Miss Souad Boutros who is
in charge of the girls boarding homes, the head of the academic
department Mrs. Rita Shakrina, the head of the vocational department Mr. Joseph Bou Simaan, and the Director, Rev. George D. Haddad.
The president of the municipal council in Khirbet Kanafar, Mr. Tony Bou
Izzeh, was the guest speaker of the ceremony.
The president of the Parents' Committee, Mrs. Leila Sati was also
attending with other members of her committee.
The ceremony began with the Lebanese national anthem. It was followed with
words of welcome and a prayer by the director. Mr. Tony
Bou Izzeh then delivered a message on the occasion.
The director and the heads of both the academic and vocational
departments delivered their addresses to the graduating students. Dina
Al-Hayek representing Grade 11, and Elias Ziadeh representing the DS3
