Mothers' Day and Easter Celebration 2013
The Junior School celebrated Mothers' Day on Thursday 21
March 2013 at 11.00 PM in Hermann Schneller Hall.

Parents were invited to
the program which was started with the children singing the Lebanese national anthem.
The director welcomed the parents, delivered a short address on the
occasion, and said the opening prayer.
Children from all classes of the Junior School contributed to the program. They danced, sang and
performed with great enthusiasm to the delight of their teachers and
proud parents.
We express our thanks to all the teachers who worked hard with our
junior children to produce the wonderful program.
We especially thank
our music teacher, Mr. Joseph Sleilati, for the music he composed, the
lyrics he wrote, and his hard work in teaching our children.
We also
thank our sports' teacher, Mr. Michael Karam, for the dances he taught our
children.
We thank Mrs. Rita Chakrina, and Mr. Elie Farhat for
organizing and coordinating the program.
We finally thank all the parents who attended
in order to encourage their children.
Happy Mothers' Day!
On
the same day, we distributed the Edukans shoebox presents to all our
students. We sincerely thank Edukans Schoenmaatjes (a child to child
gift campaign). We thank the Edukans children who kindly donated those
presents. The Schneller children thank you very much!
We especially thank the National Evangelical Church in Beirut for
sending these presents which delighted all our students. A belated thank
you goes also to the Sunday School children of the Beirut Church for
sending Christmas presents to JLSS children last January.
The Boarding Department celebrated Easter with a chapel service held
in St. Michael's Church on Thursday 21
March 2013 at 7.00 PM. The director delivered a short address on the
meaning of Easter, and the bible readings were read by Miss Souad
Boutros and Mr. Elias Haddad.
The school doctor, Dr. Samir Hamawi, lead the children who very
enthusiastically sang the Holy Week and Easter hymns. The director
concluded the service with prayer.
At the end of the service, every student received
a chocolate egg which is the tradition Easter gift in Schneller School.
As is the case every year, the Easter and Christmas presents are bought
with a grant kindly donated by Embrace the Middle East (formerly
BibleLands). We express our sincere gratitude to Embrace the Middle East
for regularly brining joy to our children and for the wonderful support
of our school.
