Rolf Bartel's November 2016 Visit

One of Summer 2016 Projects was Stage 3 of the Energy Project. It consisted of modernizing the central heating systems of
BBH5, 6 and 7 (Boarding Homes of Vocational Boys).
Mr. Bartel kindly prepared the plan which was executed by Mr. Joseph
Naim and his team. It was necessary for Mr. Bartel to come from Germany
to inspect the implementation of the project and make the final
adjustments. He visited Schneller School from 13 to 20 November 2016.
Mr. Bartel worked tirelessly until he got the new system running efficiently.
He also inspected the systems of stages one and two which were installed
the last two years, and directed Joseph Naim and his team to make all
the necessary adjustments.
JLSS now has modern efficient systems in all
the boys boarding homes.
The EVS Foundation is funding this very important project which provides
better heating and saves enormous amounts on diesel bills.
The huge savings are the result of modernizing the systems and
incorporating solar water-heating-
panels into the new energy
systems. The new systems are controlled by intelligent control units,
that divert energy during the day to domestic hot-water tanks
and hot-water-storage tanks through various stages that utilize
energy to maximum efficiency.
The savings are also the result of using a reduced number of boilers
(almost half) and new efficient ones instead of old boilers that waste huge amounts of diesel
and energy.
The building housing the girls boarding homes, the main kitchen
building, and the vocational workshops still need their heating systems
to be upgraded the coming few years.
It is our hope that the EVS Foundation will continue to fund this
very important project.
We express our sincere gratitude to the EVS Foundation and Mr. Rolf
Bartel for this additional achievement in JLSS.
