Summer School 2018 for Boarding Children

In order to help children of the boarding department improve their English, a summer-school program was held from Monday 3 till Friday 14 September 2018.

Liyah Naim, daughter of Mrs. Lisa Naim, taught 18 children from Grades 1 to 3 who needed extra lessons in English.

The program was kindly sponsored by our Swiss partners SVS (Schweizer Verein für die Schneller schulen im Nahen Osten).

It included morning hours and afternoon activities.

The morning hours were structured into three parts. During the first part Liyah used the textbooks of the previous academic year to make a comprehensive revision for each individual child of last year's lessons.
The children watched part of a children's cartoon or movie in the second part, and after that Liyah engaged them in conversation about the movie to assess and assist their comprehension.
In the last part, Liyah did arts and crafts activities with the children.

Liyah was assisted by educators from the boarding department. The educators took full charge of the children in the afternoons and evenings and organized additional activities for them.
